The Wellington Pride Parade is an annual celebration that highlights our city’s rich culture and diversity. As Aotearoa’s queerest city, Wellington takes pride in showcasing its vibrant communities. Serving as the political heartbeat of the nation, our city is home to cultural centres, embassies, and civil servants who play a crucial role in shaping our society. This event is an integral part of the Wellington Pride Festival, reflecting the city's commitment to honouring past heroes while advocating for equity and inclusion for all. The Parade embodies the spirit of Wellington, fostering a sense of pride and unity among its residents.
Courtenay Place and Dixon Street are steeped in queer history, serving as vital spaces for work, protest, and celebration. The Parade concludes at the iconic Cuba Street Rainbow Crossing.
